Documenting accessibility

Italian businesses, public administrations and suppliers have different obligations and documents. Here you will find information for EAA-covered services, the accessibility statement, AgID self-assessment model and VPAT-based ACR.

Which obligation and which document

Each case identifies the document and conditions to check. The two guides below explore requirements and other situations in more detail.

  • Business: consumer services

B2C e-commerce or another service covered by the EAA.

    Document to consider

    Information on service accessibility

Art. 12 and Allegato IV of D.Lgs. 82/2022: in the general terms and conditions or an equivalent accessible document.

    Conditions to check
Check that the service is one of those covered. Microenterprises providing services are exempt: fewer than 10 people and annual turnover or balance sheet total not exceeding EUR 2 million.
  • Large private operator

Services to the public through websites or apps.

    Document to consider

    Accessibility statement for private entities

AgID model, when this regime applies.

    Conditions to check
Services to the public through a website or app and average turnover exceeding EUR 500 million over the last three years. For EAA services, the decree's information regime applies.
  • Public administration

    Its own website or app.

    Document to consider

    AgID self-assessment and statement

Allegato 2 for self-assessment; public statement on form.agid.gov.it.

    Conditions to check
Self-assessment and the public statement are separate documents. The statement must be reviewed annually.
  • ICT supplier

The customer requires EN 301 549.

    Document to consider

    ACR using VPAT EU

EU edition to document the requirements requested by the customer.

    Conditions to check
The customer's request or specification defines the product, standard version and scope. US or combined requirements are described in the cases and documents guide.
